Study regarding the problems faced by consumers in obtaining redress for infringements of consumer protection legislation

Project summary:
In its Consumer Policy Strategy for 2007–2013 the European Commission underlined the importance of effective mechanisms for seeking redress and announced that it would consider action on collective redress mechanisms for consumers. The Directorate- General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission therefore commissioned a study to analyse the problems faced by consumers in obtaining redress for mass claims/mass issues where multiple consumers have similar claims against the same seller of goods or provider of services.
