Briefing papers on the Consumer Rights Directive proposal (COM(2008)614)

Project summary:
One briefing paper looked at the relation between the Consumer Rights Directive (CRD) proposal and the area of financial services posing questions such as: Which financial services will be covered by the CRD? Would it be preferable, under the aspect of better regulation, to exclude financial services from the scope of application in order to not create another legal regime?

A second paper searched for overlaps between the CRD proposal and other Directives, such as Services Directives, the E-commerce Directive and the Unfair Commercial Practice Directive regarding information requirements, as well as analysing possibilities for better regulation in this area.
